An International, Multi-Disciplinary Standard For Professional Excellence

The International Academy of Behavioral Medicine, Counseling and Psychotherapy, Inc. (IABMCP, “The Academy”) has, for over 20 years, been offering to qualified practitioners Diplomate Status in four areas: Behavioral Medicine, Professional Counseling, Professional Psychotherapy and Chemical Dependency Counseling. The Academy is extremely proud of the fact that its roster of Diplomates – both present and past – has included many internationally prominent practitioners who are widely recognized as having made major and lasting contributions to their fields of endeavor.

Recently, The Academy has made the exciting decision to begin to offer IABMCP Diplomate Status in Professional Coaching to those highly qualified individuals who voluntarily choose to apply for Diplomate Status.

The profession of coaching has exploded in recent years as an ever increasing number of individuals, as well as businesses and other entities, have benefited enormously from the assistance provided by professional coaches. Future exponential growth is virtually guaranteed as more and more individuals become aware of the wide range of benefits that can be achieved through competent professional coaching.

This being the case, there will be an increasing need to develop and refine standards for professional excellence with regard to professional coaching and to develop educational programs and training experiences that will enhance the skills and effectiveness of the professional coach.

Interested individuals who believe that their training and experience qualifies them for IABMCP Diplomate Status in Professional Coaching will find an application on this page. Applicants are reminded to please submit all requested documents, as well as the required application fee. With regard to the application fee, please be advised that the fee is fully refundable in the event that IABMCP Diplomate Status is not awarded.

The Academy has many exciting plans for the future. Academy benefits continue to increase and include significant tuition reductions for a wide variety of valuable educational programs.

For individuals who do not currently qualify for IABMCP Diplomate Status in Professional Coaching, Clinical Membership in the Academy is also available. Clinical members enjoy many of the same benefits as Diplomates, including the opportunity to attend a variety of programs at significantly reduced tuition.
